Polish-Canadian soprano Julia Dębowska is increasingly recognized for her "warm yet piercing" lyric voice and profound musicality. Most recently, she appeared at the Wiener Konzerthaus in February 2026, performing with the Wiener Stadtorchester under the baton of Martin Kerschbaum.
A versatile stage performer, her recent highlights include Wellgunde in Wagner’s Das Rheingold at the Hanns Eisler School of Music Berlin (2025), Lia in Debussy’s L’enfant prodigue at the FIDENA Festival (2023), and her participation in Neue Szenen VI at the Deutsche Oper Berlin. Her portrayal of Donna Elvira in Mozart’s Don Giovanni at the Konzerthaus Berlin, accompanied by the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Staatstheater Cottbus, further established her presence in the core lyric repertoire.
Ms. Dębowska’s operatic roles encompass a wide range of iconic heroines, including Mimì (La Bohème), Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte), Micaëla (Carmen), Violetta (La Traviata), and Contessa (Le nozze di Figaro). In 2022, she also performed Zora in Ana Sokolovic’s Svadba.
An accomplished recitalist and concert singer, she has performed at the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival and made her New York debut at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall. Her affinity for Early Music has led to frequent collaborations with conductors such as Raphael Alpermann and Robert Nassmacher, with featured appearances at the Alte Musik Fest Friedenau.
Julia Dębowska earned her Master’s degree from the Hanns Eisler School of Music Berlin under Prof. Renate Faltin, following Bachelor studies with the legendary Prof. Thomas Quasthoff. She is 1. prizewinner of the Wiener Klassik Competition 2026, the International Giulio Perotti Singing Competition and the Canadian Music Competition, and is a proud scholarship holder of the Lucia Loeser Foundation and Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now Berlin.
